The day before Thanksgiving crowd was predictably busy.  I went skating this morning.  Skating is embarassing for me still at this stage.  I skate like a four-year-old.  Here is proof.

Krista, Will, Jonathan, Seth and me were all out there.

So, the spot at the top of the stairs was not meant to last.  Our contact at the park let me know, and we are in a new spot yet again.  On the northern side of the ice rink, there is a light-support structure.   We are directly behind it.   Also, we are back on the Park calendar effectively today!

http://www.bryantpark.org/plan-your-visit/calendar.html

It is not a bad spot and definitely high-profile, with people walking by constantly.   A family from Texas stopped by, we passed clubs around their daughters for a minute.  When we were finished, the father walked up to me, reaching for his wallet, saying "what do we owe you?"  I thought for a second, and told him he could send me one of the pictures he had just taken with his iPhone.   He sent me a blank message, intentionally or no, I wrote him back and hopefully I'll get the picture eventually.

Skating this morning was replaced by a 'private event' that turned out to be a promotional thing for one of the sponsors, an airline, with Santa, sexy, skirted elf-girls and blue-clad flightline marshallers.   We watched their 1 o'clock show before going back to work.

The article on Bryant Park jugglers finally came out in the Post.  Here is a link:

They also popped this thing up.

...right in what we had started considering our corner.   It is a Kate Spade shop, or so they say.  I actually like the igloo-style design, but it has relocated us.   For the one day we tried right in front of the stairs and planting here:

Myles stopped by fo rthe first time in a while, giving himself a pick-me-up in the middle of the day.   When I first set up, a policeman approached me almost immediately, I thought I was getting moved, and he was just telling me that Seth was inside the rink-building and wold be out in a minute.

More pictures should follow from a couple of photographers.

Another excellent Friday!  Two Steves, Giselle, Matt, Jonathan, Seth, Rick, David and me.

We had our picture taken at a citibank tent that had appeared.  They were giving away donations if you conc\sented to have your picture taken.

All alone!  Abandoned!  Left Alone!

A little miscommunication had me juggling by myself this noon.  Kati from the park stopped by and we talked about ideas for next year.  Also, there is supposed to be another shop going up in the corner where we have been.

No juggling for me today.  There was a Thanksgiving meal at Berkeley College, organized by the International Department.

Another beautiful day, with a surprise!  Two ladies showed up who I hadn't seen in a while.  Just me and Seth again.   Here are some pictures.

We heard back from Kati from the park, and we are officially sanctioned in our space again!  We should be placed back on the calendar of events as well.

It was just me and Seth today.   I handed some guy my camera, not realizing that it was on the video setting, making for three ridiculous, extremely tiny, short videos.  And here they are:

Fridays are always hopping!  We had more than ten people juggling today.  Regulars Seth, Krista, Kelly and Jeff were there.  Kale from earlier in the summer showed up, and David of Jugglestar fame showed up for the first time in a while.   We had a couple of folks stop by to watch or talk.   I went to Marcus Monroe's show at the 47th street theater.  The pictures are of Marcus taking his bow, the scene in Times Square on the way to the subway, and the screen that show the people standing in front of it.  I am right in the middle of the screen with a brown bag in my hand, wearing a black coat.

A short sweet day.  Pretty sure it was just me and Seth, looking for others, but they stayed away.  Another family showed up, with two girls who looked very similar.  I made my usual joke, 'I'm going to guess you two are related somehow...'  One of them pipes up and says 'yeah, we're sisters, triplets.'  Then I saw the third one.   One of them had just lost her two front teeth, and I correctly guessed their age, at six.  The mother was impressed, until I told her that I have a two-year old, and have done my research into what to expect when.

Another day out by the rink on the blue grass.  Krista, myself and Seth juggled for a while.  It was Veteran's day, with the big parade on fifth avenue.  We have started meeting sometimes for skating in the morning before work as well.   I find that it has helped my juggling.

A couple of guys from the New York Times stopped by.  They said they were doing some sort of feature on the uses people have for their cell phone cameras.   They had a tripod, so they had to be legit. I have looked for the piece on the NYT website.  Nothing yet, but I will keep looking for it.   We had a family stop by, and some paparazzi girls who ran away when I beckoned them over.

Rick, Jeff, Krista, and Kelly were all there for our second day on the blue lawn. Many more people were out, which made things a bit cramped, but we made it work. The highlight was Kelly, Jeff and Krista doing a three peron feed for the first time, with scant supervision by myself. My heart swelled yet again with pride at the quickness of the group. To make matters even better, Kelly went off and created from her mind a series of passing pattern schematics that WORK. Not like I'm surprised, just outstandingly pleased she felt inspired to crete these things.  Here are pictures.

We have moved again!  We were told at one point that we might be able to juggle on the risers near the Pond.  We took the opportunity of a rainy quiet day to make this a reality ahead of time.  On the blue risers at the western edge of the skating area.  It was nice, and a kind stranger stopped by to take our picture.

One funny thing happened today.   Just as we were arriving, a woman from the park came up to us and said that we had somehow left a juggling club in the bushes and that she would go and get it for us when she got a chance.  Before she was able to get back to us, another worker said the same thing, went and got it, and then a third concerned park worker asked after our errant club.  Worker number one came back to find us straightened out.   Nice looking out, Bryant Park Staff!

We had fourteen people juggling in the park today, if you count three adorable little girls (and their guardians) given a ball each to throw around, and I do count everyone involved.

Two Marks and a Rick made it out, and gave it their all.  We had a journalist/poet named Angela who, at first, said she was going to eat, but then  thought better of it and spent most of her time juggling with us.  Someone said she would be writing a poem about us, which is the sweetest thing I heard all week.  Jonathan, Krista, Me, and Seth rounded out the group, and we had a couple of more stoppers-by.   Here are the pictures.

It rained hard enough to keep everyone, including me, away.  People called, Facebook and text messaged, signalling their regrets, and we got on with our days.    Here is the ice rink in the rain at 7:30 AM:

Here is the view that used to take in the lawn from the Eastern edge of the Park a little later in the day.  The library is directly behind me as I took it:

A great day to be juggling out in the park.  We had an interested passer-by in Rose, of Nashville, Tennessee.  We urged her to quit whatever it is she does down South and join us regularly, but she resisted.   One of the fastest students we have had ever in the park, Rose was juggling within five minutes of meeting us.   Also in attendance were Jeff, Krista, Kelly, Seth, and me.
