Tuesday - Day / Night Juggle 11-5-2013

Another great day for juggling. The sky was fairly clear and the temperature was warm-ish. The temperature was not noted today but there were less heavy coats and gloves being worn. We had the wonderful experience today of juggling on the Skate deck. As the night juggle began we had the stadium lighting to help us see the juggling props!

Not too much time to write a real post today so instead we will just flood the blog with photos sent in by an over enthusiastic juggler - Thanks!

Monday 11-4-2013

Chilly but sunny day in Bryant Park. The temperature was about 49 degrees Fahrenheit. It is fun to see the jugglers coming out some in business shirts; others in heavy coats and gloves. It is also true to note that some jugglers arrive in heavy winter clothes but as their bodies warm up from juggling the clothes begin to reduce. So far common clothing is a hat and gloves.

Even in the cold we get the regular jugglers and we always get the welcome tourists from all over the world. It is great to catch a father teaching his son or daughter. It is also nice to see a more seasoned juggler teaching a new trick to a less seasoned juggler.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) the day juggle is running from noon – 3pm EST. We will also have the normal Tuesday night juggle from 5:30 – 7:30pm EST. If you cannot find us in the park please walk around we will be there somewhere.

Friday Day Juggle (11-1-2013)

Today the park was perfectly weathered with the temperature being a comfortable 65 degrees Fahrenheit and some clouds in the sky. The ground was slightly wet but that just helped to reduce the amount dust from our newly acquired spot in the park. We have recently, within the past 2 weeks, been given a location at the southwest corner of the park behind the Bank of America Winter Village.

The Friday day juggle is a 3 hour event running from 12 noon till 3PM EST. All types of juggling are welcome to all Bryant Park Juggler events; ball juggling, club juggling, ring juggling, diablo, devil sticks, contact juggling, balancing, combination juggling, or any other form of object manipulation. All skill sets are always welcome from beginner to advanced or even professional. Beginners are usually quickly greeted by another juggler to help them develop or hone a skill.  It can even be said that the Bryant Park Jugglers are world renowned for being friendly teachers of the ancient art of juggling / object manipulation.

This writer was only able to stay for about an hour today but there was still plenty of juggling going on upon my departure. During the juggle today there was Alex, Jordan, Seth, Olga, Amanda, Kourtney, Ann, David, Naomi, Leonard, Valentine, and some others I am not able to name. Anyone that showed up for the juggle, that did not get an honorable mention here, please write in or comment so we can add you to the list in an update to this blog.

Jordan, Seth, Olga, and Alex were practicing a very nice club passing pattern of “round about”. Seth also worked on his 5 and 7 balls cascades. Kourtney and Naomi were busy working on their 3 ball cascade. Ann worked with David to advance his 3 ball cascade skills. Valentine was practicing various 3 club and 4 club patterns. Leonard worked on his 3 ball box pattern. Curtis was back after a month away to work on his 3 club tricks. Amanda was working on her 3 / 4 ball patterns and some 3 club patterns.

All said and done it was great afternoon that was only saddened by having to go back to work. This post will conclude this week’s blog. There are some pictures from today added at the end of this post. This is The Juggling Ghost Writer wishing everyone a pleasant and safe weekend!

Halloween Day Juggle

Happy Halloween! We had a great day juggle today. There was a threat of rain but the jugglers came anyway. Even as the rain began to fall the jugglers stayed and juggled some more! We had Alex, Jordan, Seth, Jeff, Amanda, Laura-Jeanne, Karen, and many more. As always if we miss your name on this blog please feel free to write in or comment so we can update the blog with your name accordingly. There was some ball toss juggling, clubs toss juggling, clubs toss passing, and devil stick play in the park. Yes there was some costumed jugglers to celebrate the holiday. I didn’t get a picture but there was one full body teddy bear costume and some less extravagant costumes. Shelter was found under umbrellas and under the roof sides of the Bank of America Winter Village.

This is my first blog post so I hope to get better at writing with time.  Pictures will also slowly grow on the blog as I get used to taking them instead of just juggling.

Monday.

July 2013

July has come and gone.  Big month for the Bryant Park Juggling crew!  We have had crowds both big and bigger, celebrity guest appearances, and a spot on the channel 11 news!

Lastly, and most exciting, we now have buttons.   Our first picture this time is Laura, the first recipient of this treasure.
