OK s it is true, the weather has been warming up a tiny bit (if you call 40 degrees Fahrenheit warm). Today was a great day to juggle in the park. Although seasonal tents have taken over most of the park the jugglers still have a nice spot to play. Most of the time juggling can be a 1 person event but juggling in a group is super nice. Today Amanda and Laura-Jeanne stay late and did some ball passing. At the same time Josh was being his usually amazing self balancing a club on his forehead while juggling three others!

I regret not having and pictures to share today but the weather was nice I could only enjoy juggling. Passing by SuperBowl Bulevard was a little terrorizing but well worth it for the warm day juggle at Bryant Park. There is just something magical about midtown even when it is invaded!

January 30, 2014

Visitor Michael from Australia could juggle!  He brought his wife and two offspring, apparently a Dalmatian and a Penguin.  Ben stopped by after too, too long away, and we had also Amanda, Josh, Seth, Jordan and Alex.

After work, a visit was paid to the gorgeous monstrosity of Verizon's Super Bowl promotional tent.  Feast your eyes!  Just wish they'd left the fountain running...

Miniature, cold juggle, but we did it.  It was a balmy 14 Fahrenheit, but the wind seemed to bring it down a bit.  One of the people who stopped to juggle was Camila, a goofball from Brazil by way of New Jersey.  She stayed for over an hour, learned a new skill, and most importantly promised to come back.  Goofball nature is evident in photos, she's a keeper.  Dylan came by to regale us with stories of NYC's cutthroat rental marketplace, and of course Gabriel, our snow-juggler.  Gabriel has taken a blood oath to juggle in ANY weather.

Important message :: from a non essential juggling blogger

The weather in the park has been cold. There is not much other way to express what 5 – 20 degrees Fahrenheit feels like in NYC while juggling half frozen balls and plastic clubs that are colder than my freezer. Despite the sub-freezing temperatures that NYC has to offer this time of year jugglers come out and shiver; this must be for the love of their art form. Most of the jugglers that you talk to will just insist there is a level of insanity or just a pure addiction that brings them out to freeze. Why they come out to juggle does not matter because after you watch this group for just a moment they may ensnare you too; the smiles, the laugher, the achievements… So I put forth that the joy that the jugglers get from juggling warms their hearts and makes it possible to juggle in the sub-freezing temperatures. Now you can see there is no reason not to go and juggle and the group teaches any skill set how to juggle or new patterns to enhance a juggler skillset. Most new jugglers can juggle at least 1 ball within seconds and 2 in minutes! See you in the park…

The aforementioned comments and statements are not the views of anyone of any true consequence and the validity of any scientific fact surely has no researched basis. Best move is now to forget the past few minutes and continue on your life as if you were never here except the overwhelming urge to go to Bryant Park and juggle year round Monday to Friday 12 noon – 1 PM EST and Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:30.
