Sunday Juggle – December 8, 2013

It is rare that we have a Sunday juggle, but this week we did! Joanna made a request for a weekend juggle on Facebook earlier in the week and a few group participants felt it would be a good idea. So Jeff was nice enough to come from 12 – 2PM and open the juggle equipment.
We had a pretty good turn out some regulars and a lot of tourists. Although it was a slightly different crowd than normal it was still a lot of fun. The regulars Jeff, Joanna, Amanda, Karen and a few others came to play.
Children from a few years old and up came to smile, laugh, and learn with us. There is something magical about watching the extremely young become interested in the art of juggling. There is even something more magical about the face that anyone of any age makes the first time they are able to successfully throw and catch three balls in a juggle cascade pattern.
Even though the weather is cold and most likely getting colder the juggle shall continue. Yes we will keep the juggle gong year round as it has been done in the years past. Still the only normal weekday times will be committed but keep an eye on the Facebook group and / or page to find out about special night or weekend juggle times.
As is also normal for the group anyone and everyone is welcome; all skill levels, ages, races, creeds, genders, religions, etc.. “The only way to get better at something is to teach someone else how to do it and practice, practice, practice!”, Amanda 2013.
We hope you all enjoy the pictures.
All of us at the Bryant Park Juggle wish you a happy Holiday and hope to see you in the park juggling with us soon!

Wednesday - December 4, 2013

Well it does seem to be getting colder again. Today entering the city was a bit cold so the bundling of people with heavy coats, scarves, hats, and gloves was evident. Amazingly once again as I got to Bryant Park the temperature amazing went up; well from my perspective anyway. It could be the excitement of knowing that the day juggle is on and that this juggle gives some a social outlet or it could be that as I get to the park my body just knows it is time to work out and it warms itself. Either way, whatever may be true the day juggle was a lot of fun today!

Normally a Wednesday juggle is technically only committed from 12-1pm, but as with most of our juggles the commitment is just half the story. Today the juggle extended to 2:30 or so and it was well worth it as some jugglers did not arrive till nearly 2pm. Not sure of how many people attended today but I believe a safe number would be around 20 jugglers. Of course the 20 people were not in attendance all at the same time; some juggler were early and left early others were late and left late, but there is always a select few that arrive early and stay late – honorable mention here to Jeff  =)

After the juggle a couple of jugglers went out for some eats at a super cheap place near the park. I find it amazing to be able to find a 2 dollar meal in midtown Manhattan (rice and chicken from 2 brothers near 38th and 6th). Again thanks Jeff for the good food / cheap price find!

Only a few pictures today as it was a day for juggling and not picture taking. Wishing all the world a Happy Holiday and a great week – you’re half way there; yes it is that day again… where did that camel go? lol

Tuesday December 3, 2013 (day/night juggle)

Today at Bryant Park we did the day and night juggles; both with wonderfully warm weather. A wonderful turnout of people showed to juggle with us today. We could try to name names but with bad memories accounted for we will just let the pictures do the talking. The Honorable mentions of the day have to go to Alex for the non-juggling face of the week and Josh for balancing a club on his forehead while juggling 5 clubs in a cascade – nice work!
Today we also took a walk through the park to see what else goes on in the park out of our eyes view. We found live music including accordions by some stripped legging ladies and a three man acoustic band. We were also able to catch a picture of the Haydenettes warming up before the tree lighting.
We are also including a video of the Haydenettes. Our videographer was late to the performance so we only have the end of the routine and a warm Merry Christmas from Bryant Park.
Quick side note or commentary – Long beautiful nails and juggling clubs do not mix! LOL
